Reflections from a midlife journey
In the shadow of comfort
We all have innate gifts whether we are conscious of them or not. If we are aware of our gifts, we can use them in service to ourselves as well as to others. But when we’re asleep to our gifts, they can be a detriment to our own well being.
More or less
Let’s face it, most of us lie to ourselves or others every now and then, or more frequently. What I came to realize is that perhaps the biggest lie I tell myself is the lie of less than. Less than is how I can often feel. But less than is an illusion.
Comfort & the waiting
Waiting means a lot of uncertainty. I’m not a fan of uncertainty. It requires patience, which only makes me want to grasp at or push at things to get them moving. Uncertainty makes me uncomfortable.
A wise woman I know told me that uncertainty means embracing discomfort. Really, who wants to embrace discomfort?!
